Removing hoomans from my backups…..

Hello,
I wanted to ‘automate’ my backups (cause I am new, paranoid and hopeless!). Looked at various plugins, got baffled (it happens a lot) and in the end went with:

• backupwordpress emailing me my database
• set up message rule to put emails into their own folder
• set up KLS mail backup to ‘gather’ the backups in their folder
• Set up Mozzy as a ‘store/sync’ that sucks the mail backup folder into the cloud from KLS

Did all this as I couldn’t get Mozzy to ‘save’ the windows folder that stored the emails.
Have I gone about this in a ridiculously complicated way? I may have gone about this all wrong (also happens a lot).
Has anyone got a really neat alternative to removing the numpty element (me) in an automatic backup regime?
