    Hi folks!

First of all I wanted to say that I’ve been enjoying your plugin for a long time now! It’s awesome!

    My question:

I need to move my podcast from WordPress A to WordPress B

I found an option that let’s me change the URL of feed, which is the most essential part as I don’t want to loose episodes on all platforms

How do I achieve that, like should I make an exact copy of WordPress (A) with media files and unfold it on a (B) domain and then use “transfer feed” button?

Or should I get a clean install first with podcast & stats plugin and then use “transfer feed” button?

Ideally I’d like to remove (A) installation completely and leave that domain empty.

It would be great if someone could share insights on the subject,I’m a bit afraid that I could mess things up

Hi @1nsp1rare thanks for the message. The best course of action would be the former where you migrate the entire site from Old Domain to New Domain, and once that’s done and you’ve verified everything on the new site to redirect oldsite.com/feed/podcast to newsite.com/feed/podcast – that last part of redirecting the feed from the existing location to the new one is what will keep your existing show submission, subscribers, and ratings/reviews live in places like Apple Podcasts.

Just a note though, if you’ve submitted your show to Spotify you’ll need to update the feed URL with them manually as they don’t accept feed redirects. That’s the only gotcha though.

    Hi @podcastmotor

Thank you so much for getting back to me!

I’m going to proceed with the site transfer today and post some kind of update here for anyone who might be looking to do the same in future

Okay, I think I’m officially done with the update

The most challenging part was the SSL and media files

Inside the plugin there are several spots where you need to enter direct media URLs.
Even though original site had the SSL all media file links ended up converting from HTTPS to HTTP. Not totally sure why, but..

This made podcast inaccessible through iTunes, since it fetches media files directly from site.

Easy fix is to get “search and replace” plugin and adjust whole SQL DB (basically replace HTTP with HTTPS )

Hope this helps to all struggling podcasters out there!
