Hi there,
We’d be happy to answer your questions.
How many images will be compressed soon after I install a free version of plugin?
When you install the plugin on your website, you have to register for a TinyPNG API account. This will automatically give you 500 free compressions per month. If your WordPress setup generates 5 sizes per image, this means that you can optimize 100 images on the free account.
Keep in mind that when you install the plugin, it will automatically compress newly uploaded images. If this is not what you want, you can change the configuration in the settings.
What about the other images. Is it possible to compress the next part of them after a month, the next part – after 2 months, etc.?
It’s possible to optimize the existing images in different months. For this, you will have to manually select which images you would like to optimize. Here are two methods in doing so:
1. Go to your?Media Library. Use the?list view?and select the images that you want to compress by checking the checkboxes. From the?Bulk Action?drop drown menu on the top, select?Bulk Optimization,?and click apply.?
2.?Go to your?Media Library. Be sure to have the?list-view?activated. You will see a?compress?button on the right of each image. Clicking this button will compress the image.
If I decide to take a paid version, how much will I pay for compressing all 1000 (5000) images.
The WordPress plugin makes use of the developer API service. You can read more about the pricing at https://tinypng.com/developers#pricing.
If you are making 5000 compressions per month, the cost will be $40.50USD (including 500 free compressions)
And is this one-time fee or a monthly fee?
This will be a one-time fee. The plugin will only compress images that have not been compressed with the plugin before. Next to this, the original image will be replaced with the optimized result. Therefore you do not have to optimize the images again.
