– I ran the jetpack debug tool, it says there is a small program problem and that I should drop a note to you.
– Lastly, I am unable to make any changes to the settings.Appreciate it if you can assist me. Thanks!

Hi @vinnenroute2019,
I’m sorry to hear about the trouble, but thanks for reaching out.
Can you tell me more about the small program problem reported by the debug tool?
I notice that your site is loading a bit slow at my end, which might be one of the causes of the connection issue.
You may want to report this to your host, and check for any security/caching plugin you may have enabled, and try temporarily disable them, to see if it fixes the problem. You may also want to search for any firewall on your server-side that might be blocking the communication with the xmlrpc.php file – your host should be able to help you with that.
If that won’t help, we’d like to run some more tests with you on your site to try to figure out what’s happening. Could you contact us via this contact form and mention this thread? It’d be useful if you could also attach the entire debug report with your message.
Thanks!
Hi there!
Thanks for the response. Please see the response from the jetpack debugger tool.
Whoops!
There was a small systems error. Please try refreshing the page and if the error is still there drop us a note and let us know.*I refreshed the page, same error message displays.
As per my hosting provider, there is no problem with my system.
I am currently optimizing my site to make it faster. Hope you can also check from your end if there are any other issues.
Thanks!
As Stef mentioned, the main issue seems to be the loading speed of your site. If Jetpack can’t load your homepage within around 10 seconds, the connection will time out.
I tried testing your site’s load speed at https://gtmetrix.com/ and got the following error:
GTmetrix tried to analyze the page, but it took longer than 2 minutes to finish loading.
So I’d definitely talk to your host to see if they can offer any assistance with speeding up your site.
Hello!
I’ve been working to optimize my site today (still not finish) and I am seeing improvements with the speed.
Also called the hosting provider and they said no issues but I need to optimize the site content.I ran debug tool, this is the response:
Everything looks great!
All tests have passed for vinnenroute.net and your Jetpack powered site looks good to go! If you’re still experiencing trouble working with Jetpack, please check out the following resources:I also made changes to jetpack settings and they were successfully saved.
But on my jetpack dashboard, I still have this message:
Jetpack Dashboard was unable to properly communicate with your website. Please check your website’s error logs to see what’s wrong.Waiting for your response.
Thanks!
Hi again
The site is definitely loading faster now, but when we try to access your site’s xmlrpc.php file, it is taking a very long time to load, and sometimes timing out, which would explain why you sometimes see a successful connection message.
Jetpack, like some other plugins, services, and apps, relies on the XMLRPC.php file to communicate with our systems.
?
Can you contact your web host and check to see if they’re blocking or otherwise limiting incoming and outgoing connections over XML-RPC?Jetpack, the WordPress mobile apps, and some other plugins and services use this file to communicate with your site, but some hosts block connection requests to that file.
Our requests look like the following:
– File: https://your-site.com/xmlrpc.php
– User-agent header: Jetpack by WordPress.com
– IPs: https://jetpack.com/support/hosting-faq/#jetpack-whitelistPlease ask them to whitelist the IP addresses listed above. Note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time, which could break your connection to Jetpack. For this reason, we actually discourage whitelisting specific IPs, although with some hosts it may be the only option.
Let us know what you find out. Thanks!
Hi Dan,
Thanks a lot for checking this out. I have notified the hosting provider as per your response.
“We have done the changes as I can see the as the other extension was not enabled which is why it got time and also have optimize the hosting to performed the usage and respond fast.”Checking the JP dashboard, I still see the message:
Jetpack Dashboard was unable to properly communicate with your website. Please check your website’s error logs to see what’s wrong. The only thing I haven’t done up to now is to update the PHP version. I just wanna check this with you before I make the necessary update.
Thanks!
Hi Again,
I did some updates on my old post and found out that images are not loading. I checked online and users have problems with jetpack plug-in. I deactivated JP and the images are back up again.
Please advise how to sort out this issue.
Thanks!
Hi again
It’s hard to say why your images are not loading without being able to see the issue. Would you be able to reactivate and reconnect Jetpack and then send us a link to a page where we can see the issue?
Have you tried the troubleshooting tips here?
https://jetpack.com/support/site-accelerator/#troubleshooting-tipsHello,
I deactivated all plugins and I activated JP.
Images were not loading but when I disable the image accelerator, images are back.
But I think there is one plug-in, messing with the JP and the rest of the site. I’m on it.Please let me know what you may have found.
JP dashboard says that it is still unable to connect with the site. Thanks!
There is a chance that your browser cache may not know what happened to the images shortly after using or deactivating the Image CDN inside the accelerator settings.
If you still have trouble after working on that other plugin, please attempt to leave the site in a state where the images aren’t showing correctly so we can try to catch the issue as it’s happening. Thanks!
Hi there! images are ok on site… but I’m having another problem. when I share links on social media – FB and twitter the images don’t load.
What I did:
– set up the featured images on yoast
– use the FB debugger tool and scrape it
– deactivated all plugins and activated one a timeNothing happens.
Also, I tried sharing old posts, which were working before on socials but this time it didn’t.
So I don’t think it is an image size issue.I also called my hosting provider several times, they deleted cache and check the website, from their end they are telling me it’s a plug-in issue.
Hope you can assist me with this.
Thanks!
Hey @vinnenroute2019!
Publicize needs to use Jetpack’s Open Graphs in order to work as expected with images as well. Can you try disabling this option on the Yoast plugin and see how it goes this way?
Thanks in advanced for working this out with me ??
Hello!
Thanks for staying with me too.
I disabled Yoast OPEN Graph Meta for FB and Twitter card meta, still unresolved.
Images don’t come up in social shares.I hope we can fix this.
Hello!
Just following up on this issue, I still have problems with images when shared in social media.
Waiting for your response.
Hi Again!
Currently, the Yoast meta is still disabled. I tried to enable it, but nothing happened so I switch it back to disable mode.Used the FB debugger tool and scrape the link twice. I got this error:
“Provided og:image, https://vinnenroute.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Cyprus.jpg could not be downloaded. This can happen due to several different reasons such as your server using unsupported content-encoding. The crawler accepts deflate and gzip content encodings.”I called the host provider – go daddy to check the server as per the error above.
Agent replied: It will be reviewed by your content developer for the customization of the content so that it will show when you share it in your social media, because ideally I have reviewed and there is no such error in the hosting currently.
We from GoDaddy can only make complete changes and solve the error related to the hosting, and the customization will be done from the developers.
I have done the reset from the hosting, you can check it within sometime once it will be reflected.
And if you get the same error, then do let your developers know. So, Agent did a reset of the hosting, which i will check tom if it worked. Otherwise, I will contact the developer.
Appreciate it if you can provide your inputs on this.
Thanks!
