    Hello,

I am working on a site that had a number of SMTP plugins installed, which I have removed. Setting up “WP Mail SMTP by WPForms” via the setup wizards declares that there is another SMTP plugin installed (SMTP Mailer) and would I like to import the settings.

Your plugin “SMTP Mailer” is not currently installed. I installed it again to see if there is an option top fully delete the settings and deactivate and/or remove SMTP Mailer, but no such option exists. I have again removed SMTP Mailer but “WP Mail SMTP by WPForms” still detects its presence and settings.

I have checked the FTP of the site and the database and cannot see anything remaining of the plugin or see where these settings are being pulled from.

How can I stop this from happening and fully delete/remove SMTP Mailer?

A feature to “delete all settings and deactivate plugin” would be a great addition I think. I use some other plugins that you develop and am very happy with them ?? Just, in this instance I need to use “WP Mail SMTP by WPForms” so cannot consider using your plugin.

    Thanks ??

@lloydrogerspencer, I don’t know how it detects a particular plugin. You can check for the “smtp_mailer_options” entry in the “wp-options” table. If you find the entry, delete and see how it goes.

Thanks for the reply, I had a look and there was nothing in the “wp-options” table.

Perhaps there is some caching happening on the server level causing this. I am moving the site to a new hosting environment soon. So currently have the default WP Mailer function in place and will set up a SMTP plugin after the site is moved. I will see then if the settings are still being detected, my suspicion is that they wont be. But we shall see.

I will leave an update when I know.

    Thanks again.
