Adding URL to image needs work

Hi – went to add a url to an image and it seemed odd how it works – and should probably be changed a bit.

I searched the forum and it used to be in the block editor there was a URL section on the right hand for media block. However, that seems to have disappeared. So I added a URL via the link tool above the media box. That worked however it does not show custom URLs and only shows whether it is a link to the media file or media page. Clicking on that link tool also does not show the custom URL – it comes up as blank so the only way to make sure it worked is to open the page, click on the picture and see where it takes you.
