try temporarily switching to default permalinks
    admin – settings – permalinks
    do categories show up now?
if so, reset your custom permalinks

Sorry, but It’s unsolved Mr. Moderator.
I found an articles that talking about same problem for 2.7.1 version. It suggest to open phpmyadmin at cpanel and try this sql query code:

    UPDATE wp_term_taxonomy,wp_terms SET wp_term_taxonomy.description = wp_terms.name
    WHERE wp_term_taxonomy.term_id = wp_terms.term_id

I haven’t try that way. Is it risky for my database ?
