    Hello dear wordpress Expert,

I am writing you because, I am desperate. My google analytics on site kit keep showing “We’ve detected there’s already an existing Analytics tag on your site (ID UA-43776399-4)”.

Because of that,I removed monsterinsight, then I had the bad idea to deleted my first google analytics account property (but I used a backup account to have it back). So, I am still using the same email.

Clearly, after that, I delete the property; I then lost all my previous data analysis and the probleme is not solve, the message keep showing.

I then create a new property yesterday (and download monsterinsights) but, I dont know if, it is connect to my Site. Can somebody check my site or help me fix it.

I am trying to do my site on my own though, I am not a web developper, but this one, is complicated.

    thank you!!

Thanks for opening a support topic, I’m sure we can assist and get Site Kit connected to your preferred property. The notice you’re encountering is normal if there’s an Analytics snippet placed on your site before setting up Site Kit, an Analytics property from another Google account and which your Google account doesn’t have access to.

In order to get Site Kit connected successfully with statistics available to you from your Site Kit connected Google account you can perform any of the below:

    1. If known ask the owner of this referenced Analytics property to grant you access at Analytics level, analytics.google.com. You may be the owner of this snippet yourself if you have another Google account, which wasn’t used during Site Kit setup.
    2. Determine the source of the existing snippet and remove it before connecting the Analytics module within Site Kit once more.
    3. Determine the source of the existing snippet and replace it with an Analytics property from your own account, which you have access to.

Note that if you remove or replace the snippet as above the statics will no longer be tracked on that property.

If you want to share your site URL I can check for the existing of any snippet after you’ve attempted any of the above 3 options. If you’re unsure of the source of the additional Analytics snippet you can also share your Site Health information via this form and I can see if I notice any plugins with Analytics integration.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

    Hi Dear Osborne,

I couldnt find the other tag, I tought it will go by itself since, I have a new google anlytics. but it is stil there.
Should I deleted site kite or leave it. Because, beside analytics, console and adsense is working well.

    Best regards.

Sorry to hear you’ve been unsuccessful in locating the snippet, I’ve reopened this support topic so we can assist. I don’t advise deleting Site Kit if you’ve used the plugin to connect your site to the various Google services. In addition you won’t be able to avail of the Site Kit dashboards, providing you with insights on your sites performance. If you do choose to delete Site Kit you can of course manually connect your site to the other services by inserting the various snippets.

If you would like assistance in locating the source of your non Site Kit placed Analytics snippet I’m happy to suggest some steps. Let me know if you’ve like me to do so.

Great, hopefully we can determine the source. Firstly can you confirm that you’ve checked the below, all common methods when it comes to placing Analytics snippets:

    • Your theme configuration options?
    • Your theme files, in particular header.php and footer.php?
    • Google Tag Manager?
    • Other third party plugins with Analytics integration?

If you’ve already checked the above feel free to share your Site Health information privately via this form. Alternatively I can suggest some steps to take using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.

I check all the mthods you send me beside the my theme configuration options,
my theme files, header.php and footer.php, because I know nothing about code. always afraid to do something wrong.

Providing you’ve checked all the above let’s do some troubleshooting to see if we can pinpoint the source of the snippet. Firstly can you share your Site Health information privately via this form? I can then see if I can identify any theme configuration or plugin which may have Analytics features.

    Thread Starter lulua88

    (@lulua88)

i filled the form and submitted it !

@lulua88 Thanks for sending that information, very helpful!

I see that your site is using the Alia theme, which includes an option to add Google Analytics code. Can you please log into the WordPress admin and go to Appearance > Customize > General Settings > Code to add before </head> and let me know what you see there?

    Thread Starter lulua88

    (@lulua88)

noting is writing, it is empty.

    Thread Starter lulua88

    (@lulua88)

here is the sentence: Code to add before </head> – ex. Google Analytics
Nothing is writing on the box

@lulua88 Thanks for checking. I don’t see any other plugin that you’re using that includes Analytics integration, so I suspect it may be placed into your theme files.

Are you comfortable checking your site source code? You can check your theme files directly by going to Appearance > Theme Editor. From there, select the Theme Header file, which should be the header.php. Then, hit CTRL + F and search for “UA-43776399-4”. Don’t change anything just yet – just copy and paste anything that you find here and I can let you know how to proceed.

    (@lulua88)

I couldnt find “UA-43776399-4”, however i dont know if I am allow to copy the code of the header. for you to see. let me see so that , I could paste it.
