• Hello,
After installing the plugin, my site no longer displays my additional CSS. For the back-end, the list of widgets has a strange display and the plugin is not functional. I have the impression that there is a CSS conflict in my installation with this plugin. Do you have any idea where to direct me to solve this problem?

Can you open the browser tools with F12 and go to the tab Console if there is any error shown?

Or do you use debug true with your wp-config.php to display any errors?

Do you have updated to WordPress 5.7 and after update there are any Javascript errors. Here you can read more about the jQuery migration: https://make.www.ads-software.com/core/2020/06/29/updating-jquery-version-shipped-with-wordpress/

Is it just in the backend?

Is it possible to show me the Same Category Posts configuration means all options special the Filter option.

No, the CSS is changed in the frontend too.
I do not have access to the plugin because it breaks the display of all plugins.

Can you send us a Url to your website?

Do you update to WordPress 5.7?

Can you delete the Same Category Posts folder at your webserver wp-content/plugins/same-category-posts and the error disappear after deletion?

When I remove the plugin, everything goes back to normal.

Last technical question: And you have placed the Same Category Posts widget nowhere?

    Thread Starter noeragui

    (@noeragui)

No because all my widgets are inactive on my backend since the plugin was installed. So I can’t test it.

    Plugin Author Daniel Floeter

    (@kometschuh)

Your used Theme is a payed one. That’s why I couldn’t test with it.

I should know if the error appears with which plugin or do you use a lot custom code.
It can be tested to copy all other plugins to a folder and just have the Same Category Posts widget installed.
Than copy plugin by plugin back to wp-content/plugins/… folder
    Or something like that?

    Thread Starter noeragui

    (@noeragui)

    ok i will test this.

I think I found it. I tested every plugin and every theme. The problem is with my WP Engine host. Have you ever had any issues with them?

    Plugin Author Daniel Floeter

    (@kometschuh)

There are problems with old PHP versions.
    You need PHP 5.3 +

It should be not a huge effort to update to the newest PHP version with your host.

Sometimes there are also PHP version entries in the .htaccess you have to adapt.

I have already tested in PHP 5.3 and 5.4. It doesn’t change anything.
I don’t think we’ll ever find the solution.
