• Recaptcha is disappearing before submission and forms cannot be submitted. We have tried V2 and V3 and it happens with both. There does not seem to be a reason why some people have more of an issue than others. Most of the time it disappears precisely at 2 minutes.

  • This might be related to the latest Recaptcha changes. It seems, that Recaptcha isn’t really free anymore… at least it looks like it is necessary to adapt the code somehow.

    Hi @earlymusicamerica

    The reCAPTCHA life span is 2 minutes, we try to ‘refresh’ this to make sure it doesn’t disappear.

    You can still use reCAPTCHA for free @adrian2k7, I also got a bit confused with their update recently. I chose v3 Admin Console option when visiting the reCAPTCHA site and it bypasses the Google Cloud/Business option. Hope that helps.

    Caldera Forms Anti Spam pre-release is available here for anyone that may be having issues (which has helped in some cases, not all) – https://github.com/andrewlimaza/caldera-forms-anti-spam

    @andrewza and all –

    We are having the same issue on quite a few sites where the token is expiring before the form is completely filled out and causing users to start over, or just leave the site and call the site owners to complain about it ??

    I’m not sure if you are using the on page load method, but in Google’s documentation there is this tidbit of info:

    Note: reCAPTCHA tokens expire after two minutes. If you’re protecting an action with reCAPTCHA, make sure to call execute when the user takes the action rather than on page load.

    Is there anyway to bind the action to a submit button on the form, or is this already programmatically happening in the background?

    Thanks.

    Can you guys just add native support for this? It’s kind of ridiculous we have to rely on a 3rd party plugin.

    @andrewza thank you for the pre-release of the Anti Spam plugin. Unfortunately it didn’t work for me ??

    No workaround for this yet?

    Thanks!

    @velasko Caldera Forms is officially retired.

    Personally I would recommend trying Ninja Forms.

    @adrian2k7

    Ninja Forms (Saturday Drive) is who acquired Caldera forms, and in my personal opinion, they handled the transition horribly and left 1000’s of people out to dry when v5 of WP dropped. We manage over 100+ client sites that used Caldera and we’ve had nothing but problems ever since.

    We’ve migrated everything over to Formidable Forms and I must say, we’ve been missing out… should’ve done it sooner.

    @viablethought
    I totally agree with you. Saturday Drive “drove” a very bad strategy…
    and I avoided trying Ninja Forms in the first, because of their strategy ??

    I also tried Formidable Forms, but really wasn’t satisfied.

    Then, a customer of mine “forced” me to use Ninja Forms (because of the upcoming migrator). And I have to admit, that it works great so far.

    I can only second this: … should’ve done it sooner ??

    @adrian2k7

    I was “forced” to use Ninja by a client at one point and found very quickly that I am not a fan of the UI, didn’t think it was well thought out and they are also missing some key add-ons that our clients use, especially for payment processors.

    I refuse to give Sat Drive any of our money after how they handled this, we lost countless man-hours and sleep over the issues they have caused. I’ll never use them.
