Optimize: page flickers. How to fix?

    I have created an experiment in Google Optimize on my start page. But when I check it in preview it flicks: first, it shows original text then changes it to alternative text.

    I have read some topics in this forum about anti-flicker. It looks like Optimize connected by Site Kit plugin should not flick.

    What I am doing wrong? How to fix it?

    Thanks for reaching out to us.

    Site Kit places the snippet as recommended by Optimize and from inspecting your site you do see various other snippets before the Optimize, most likely from other plugin insertions.

    This may be resulting in the flicker. While there is no option to install the anti flicker snippet within Site Kit here is a guide with instructions.

    You can temporarily deactivate the other plugins just to make sure Optimize plugin snippet appear as high up within the <head> as possible.

    I disabled all plugins except Google Site Kit but the flickering didn’t stop.
    I cannot now debug this problem on my production site and I do not have a test site available from the Internet to debug this problem on it.

    So I have added recommended anti-flicker snippet to my theme’s header.php and it solved the problem.

    @megafanat Thanks for the update. Based on your support topic we’ve since created a GitHub issue so that users don’t have to manually insert the anti flicker snippet:

    @megafanat Hi there! We’ve released v1.39.0 last week, which includes a new configuration option in Site Kit for adding the anti-flicker snippet.
