Free or payed?

  • Hi,
    I’m looking for a Survey Plugin in WordPress.
    SurveyJS looks amazing. I found this Information in https://hackernoon.com/surveyjs-plugin-for-wordpress-9f42d9219db0:

    ?The plugin is free and is released under the GPLv2 WordPress standard license. Registration is not required?—?simply install and use it. It is based on SureveyJS libraries and uses a full SurveyJS power.?

    But when I install the Plugin, there is an Information:

    ?Please purchase a SurveyJS Creator developer license to use it in your app.?

    I do not want to violate licenses. 499 EUR / 599 USD is quite a lot to use a WP-Plugin.

      – So means this License-Information in the Plugin related to ?App? something else then the WordPress-Website?
      – Or is it a must to pay $455 / 599 USD to use the plugin legally on a wordpress website? (No matter what is on other sites, or was once free and licensed under GPL2?)

    It’s kinda, sorta not quite correct but not quite wrong either.

    This is the message.

    Please purchase a SurveyJS Creator developer license to use it in your app.

    The “Please” part is important. That will take you to a page that shows you the various offering.

    This plugin and SurveyJS Library are free per that page.

    If you want to also get the other options then those need to be purchased and does not come with the plugin on this site.

    The wrong part is that message cannot be dismissed and that gives users the wrong impression.

    Let me describe more in details:

    You are free to use SurveyJS WordPress Plugin in your WordPress projects. At the same time you should get license per each developer in case you want to modify using of SurveyJS WordPress Plugin in source code of your application (SurveyJS Library is free in any case)

    The “Please purchase a SurveyJS Creator developer license to use it in your app” message in SurveyJS Creator should be hidden by default in SurveyJS WordPress Plugin. We checked it again and we haven’t this message in SurveyJS WordPress Plugin. Feel free to contact us in case you’ll face with any issues
