Why does wordpress still have AIM/ yahoo IM in user profiles

  • AIM and yahoo messenger have not existed for several years now. Why does wordpress continue to have fields for them in the User profile settings? They aren’t a huge deal as I can just ignore them, but considering most themes or plugins handle peoples social accounts they actually use, why are they still included in WordPress updates.

    Dont know what Jabber is, but a quick search suggest that is also a dead app and should be removed.

    Actually, those fields were removed in WordPress 3.6. They don’t show up in new installs, but older legacy installs will still have them.
