Has anyone else had their blog hacked before?

Is it common? And how did you go about fixing the problems?

It happens but it’s not really that common (hacked installs/total number of WordPress installs, and no I don’t have that ratio ?? )

If it keeps happening to a WordPress install then it’s best to harden that install and lock down the file permissions.

See https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Hardening_WordPress for more info. When the installation get hardened enough, you do lose some ease of use functionality. Any plugin, theme, or WordPress updates will ask you for your FTP user ID and credentials.

To me, that’s a small price to pay to keep your blog secured, but to each their own.
