I’m using the Members plugin to restrict access to pages and content based on a users Role within WordPress.

Any member who has been added via MembershipWorks however, even if they have the correct role, are not able to view the content. If a user is added to WordPress, it should be subject to the same user roles and restrictions as all others.

I have tested this and proven that a manually added user, who subsequently becomes a member, can access the restricted content. Members who sign up using the MW process can not.

    Hi CharleyLeetham!

Unfortunately we do not have experience with the Members plugin. The MembershipWorks Login Connector plugin uses standard WordPress functions – wp_create_user to create the user account and wp_signon to sign in users. It is possible that this third-party Members plugin adds non-standard data to the WP user account or non-standard cookies when users sign in, thereby breaking compatibility with the standard WordPress functions.
