    Hi Franky,

thanks for your great efforts and your splendid work.
I am not sure how to set up the function where you can using a planned email newsletter for the upcoming events within 30 days.
    In German it says:
“Newsletter. Sende eine E-Mail an alle in EME registrierten Personen, für anstehende Veranstaltungen die innerhalb der n?chsten XXX Tage”.

There, I have to define templates for Email Subject, Message header, text for single event entries, and a message text. All those drop down options are empty.

I am having a hard time to set up those templates and – which might be the greatest challenge – test it without sending mails to several 100 users.

Do you have a hint how to set this up?

Thank you so much in advance.

    Best regards from Germany,

    Armin Lediger

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes, i know the documentation pretty well. Still, setting up the whole email design will of course require me to send test email. how am i gonna do that without annoying all my users?

And are there any template examples available so I don′t have to write all the stuff by hand? Because if I want to send this information I will have to insert pictures and then I will need to build html structure, right? Or is there another elegant way to have maximum readability?

I received this as an email (and Outlook does not recognize it as HTML):

me once more. I don′t know why but in settings “sending HTML emails” was disabled. No wonder it looked so weird.

    Thanks anyway!

    Keep up the great work!

For testing email (layout wise), you can always go in the “email management” submenu and there send an event-related email (or generic) to yourself.

    I got it. Thank you!
I could manage to limit my mailserver in a way that only 2 emails per hour were allowed to be sent out so I could test it easily.

Thank you for your great and quick support.

If you activate mail queueing in EME you can limit it in the EME scheduled settings too ??

    Thread Starter octosoft

    (@octosoft)

True, but once I had 770 Emails in the queue I was unable to stop the queue. Or did I miss something? ??

In “email management” => “mailings” you can always cancel a mailing.

    (@octosoft)

Unfortunately, no. The newsletter mailing is not listed there. Not during the mailing nor after the mailing. thats why I could not cancel it that way.
I only find booking confirmations there or mailing that were manually triggered.

Do you have the mail queue functionality activated in EME? See EME Settings => Mail => “Queue mails for later” and then in the submenu “scheduled actions” => “Send out queued mails in batches of”
Edit: I checked the code to make sure I don’t bypass the queue in the newsletter, so if the queue is active, those mails get queued too.

    Hi Franky,

yes, that has correctly been set up. And works well; I send 2 emails a minute so yesterdays mailing took around 6 hours and during that time the mailing was not visible in the “mailing” section. afterwards, it is still not mentioned in the list.

So I guess you ignored it so far. ??

    Plugin Author Franky

    (@liedekef)

I think I found it: while I queue the mails, I don’t create a corresponding mailing for it. So they are managed by EME, but just as one-per-one mails, so only visible in the “Search sent emails” section (which should be renamed to just “Search emails”). I’ll correct that for the next version.

    Franky, you are the man.

Thank you for your help, really!

    Have a great weekend.
