Hi Smush Family, hope you all are doing great. I found smush a really good plugin for image optimization which magically makes my site light and fast laod. I am using it on my site Read light novels . I want to ask a confusion about lazy load. Is there any other way than enabling the lazy load? I am curious that if the user just landed on my site and he just quickly jumped to the end of the page and the images will be load slowly due to lazy load and this may put a little negative impact on the user or its just normal?.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @davidd001,

Hope you are doing good today ??

In general, lazyload works by deferring the images below the fold, ie once lazyload is enabled, only the necessary images that are required for the initial screen that loads when you open an URL gets loaded.

Once you scroll past the initial screen, the rest of the images starts to load based on the scroll. It would be normal, to see the images taking a bit of time to load if you just quickly scroll past to the end of the page.

I don’t see lazyload enabled on the mentioned page to see how it behaves at the moment. Maybe, you could try adjusting the “Duration” as shown in the following screenshot?

If the above doesn’t help, you could also try the “Native Lazyload” feature in Smush and see whether it helps or not.

The above mentioned settings are located under Smush > Dashboard > Lazyload page.

    Kind Regards,
