WordPress 5.6 no auto update to 5.7

Hello there.
I have a 5.6 install I was hoping to move to 5.7 I can update themes and plugins however I’m unable to update the core automatically. Any advice on where I should start looking. This is a fairly vanilla install and all of the files are owned by _www the web host.
