    Hi,

I am using wordpress version 2.9.2 and Version 2.1.2 of contact form 7. As stated in the topic title, email submission is successful but no mail received.

Previously, I was using wordpress version 2.7.1 and Version 2.0.7 of contact form 7 and it works. After upgrading my wordpress and contact form 7, it does not work.

So i tried using the old Version 2.0.7 of contact form 7 and it also does not work.

Did something went wrong when i upgrade my wordpress version? Advices appreciated. Thanks!

  • I’m having the exact same issue. Can someone help us here please!

    Thank you.

    Same here.

I am encountering the same behavior, albeit with WordPress 2.9.2 and Contact Form 7 version 2.2.

The response message “Your message was sent successfully. Thanks.” is displayed by captcha once the form has been submitted, but the emails never arrive.

I did not change anything on the form, only upgraded to 2.2.

Unfortunately I don’t have access to the mail server’s log files.

Are there any other steps that would help in troubleshooting this issue?

Same problem. My WP version is 2.92.
Contactform7 v2.1.2 was working. Then I upgraded to version 2.2 and now email submission is successful but no mail received.

If i downgrade it doesn’t help.

Hopefully the developer sees this soon.

Even stranger. I installed the plugin on another one of my WP installations and it works perfectly. It’s the same version.

Update: Several hours later all of the submissions suddenly arrived in one fell swoop. Makes we wonder if there was something wrong and/or misconfigured at the provider’s end (which for the sites in question was GoDaddy).

Hey guys I managed to solve the issue. However,do take note I am using wordpress version 2.9.2 and Contact Form 7 version 2.2 as well as an Gmail account.

    1. Download the latest version of WP Mail SMTP. At current time of posting it is Version 0.8.3.

    2. Install and activate WP Mail SMTP plugin

    3. Sign up for a Gmail account or google apps account if you do not have one.

    4. Now go to the WP mail Options page.

    5. Under the From Email form, type in your gmail address. For the From Name form, you can just leave it blank if you want to.

    6. Under mailer, select “send all WordPress emails via SMTP”

    7. For the remaining options do this:

    SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP Port: 465
    Encryption: SSL
    Authentication: Yes
    Username: your full gmail address
    Password: your gmail password

    8. Click update options and you are done!

After doing all these steps you can test the contact form 7 now. It should work.

Using WP Mail SMTP seems to be better as previously, using CF7 to send mail takes about 15 mins to arrive. Now, with the Cf7 plugin, the mail arrives almost instantly.

Hopefully, the steps I wrote above help those who are having problems. Good luck!

    Hi there,

Do you have any idea how to solve the problem for non-gmail users??
I cannot receive any mails from my contact forms for the moment.

Thanks a lot for your help

    Hi gsiroland,

I recently installed WordPress and BBPress and was experiencing similar issues with sending mail through PHP. Then today, at 3:45, I got all of the emails at once just like your previous post:

Update: Several hours later all of the submissions suddenly arrived in one fell swoop. Makes we wonder if there was something wrong and/or misconfigured at the provider’s end (which for the sites in question was GoDaddy).

Did you ever figure out what the issue was?

    Thanks omg88

Your post helped me a lot getting rid of contact us problem. I had the same problem of mails not sending but getting success message.

I am using wordpress 3.0.1 and WP mail smtp 0.8.6

Thanks again and keep on posting such knowleageable thoughts.

Hi I have just encountered this same problem with WP 3.0.4

I did not upgrade recently, I am just all of a sudden not receiving emails, has anyone else encountered this? Will upgrading to 3.0.5 fix it?
