• THis is going to be long so i can give you all the details..sorry

So i built and installed my wordpress site on godaddy with in a subdirectory. jaybroyer.com/wordpress. after a few months i really wanted to move everything into the root so my urls wouldn’t have the /wordpress in them.

I followed the instructions in the codex and some other helpful guides. My problem was setting the new urls in General>settings before i moved the files. the old urls were; site url: jaybroyer.com/wordpress blog url jaybroyer.com/wordpress/blog.

So i changed them to; site url: jaybroyer.com and blog url jaybroyer.com/blog

what this did obviously is put the blog in its own sub, which is fine if i had realized that at the time.

once the move took place the site would load and after fidling wth the database i had the site working execept all the pages were /blog and thus the permalinks were not working correctly.

SO i thought because there was a directory in the root called blog which i thought was left over from an old wp installation when i installed it in the directory /blog. SO thinking it was an old unused directory i deleted it!!!!!

I then realized that directory was created when i moved the site to the root. I was able to get the rest of my site working correctly with all pages except the posts page (what i deleted)

you can go to my website https://www.jaybroyer.com to see whats going on just click on blog in the menu and all it shows is a blank white page.

Is there anyway to rebuild the posts page? i have all my blogs backed up and even when i log into the wp dashboard i can see all my posts in there its just the ‘post’s page’ files to display them are gone, im pretty sure. I have a site back up and have all the files from before i moved to root directory.

is there someway to do this without re-installing wordpress ?
