WC is my system of record. When I create a new product in WC and sync it to Square, the item created in Square shows variations. This means that each new item shows a dropdown list in Squares dashboard that appears to be an exact duplicate of the original item. It’s more of a nuisance than anything else, and clutters up the Square dashboard.

Is there a way to stop this? Has anyone else experienced this?

These products were created in WC with Square Sync enabled.

    Hi @miclovin

Yes, this is how the plugin currently operates but we do have an enhancement request to the developers regarding “Simple Products in WooCommerce Store synced as Variations in Square”.

For now, this is how the products are sync to Square.

I’m in the process of syncing products. This is pretty messy so if I switch to using Square as the system of record and then sync to WC, then it wouldn’t have this problem?

It is still better to use WC as the SoR. It syncs better and if you think about it, our websites are what customers see so it needs to be perfect. Even with the issue I mentioned earlier, I am much happier with WOocommerce as system of record.

    Thanks for replying here @miclovin.

Hi @monumentalseo we generally recommend using WooCommerce as your System of Record if that is the only place you will be selling your products. If you will be selling both online and offline, we would recommend Square as your System of Record.

If you are using the plugin and encountering any issues, please feel free to open a new forum thread and we can look into that for you.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the update. I am having issues so I’ll open a new thread.
