I chose to follow the advice on this page:

    https://wp-customerarea.com/documentation/user-guides/securing-your-private-files/

Whilst trying to change the URL to the storage folder I have now broken the functionality. If I go to WP Customer Area > Settings > Private Files I receive a critical error message. The rest of the site and plugin seems to be ok. Is there a way I can reset the URL to the storage folder back to the default. I tried uninstalling the plugin and re-adding but the settings seem to be saved somewhere.

    Thank you.

Could you paste here the error message you are getting?

    Does that folder exist?

Is the web server allowed to access it, create subfolders, files in that location?

You can always reset the plugin settings by visiting the page /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpca-status&tab=reset on your website.

I initially removed the plugin via WordPress itself and not via the options in WP Customer Area which remove all the settings too. I tried again using the latter method and it fixed it. Thanks for the help above anyway. Much appreciated.
