I have managed to create a mandatory checkbox field for customers subscribing to my newsletter. However, I want the letters to appear in white because the background is dark green. How do I do that?

  • Hi!

Most probably that can be changed by using custom CSS (which it’s out of our scope of support), but can you share a link to a page of your site with that form? So we can confirm this.

    Cheers!

    Hi dromero20,
Thanks for your reply! Sorry, I am late with mine now.
I have deleted the mandatory checkbox field because of the layout, but I will recreate it today (or tomorrow, if I don’t manage to do it today) and share the link.
    best regards,

    Hi dromero20,

Now, when I add the mandatory checkbox, the colors are just fine!
That’s great of course, but I noticed another little flaw (at least, I don’t see where I can fix it): when someone tries to subscribe without checking the checkbox, the comment ‘selecteer tenminste een optie’ appears in red.

‘selecteer tenminste een optie’ means ‘select at least one option’ which is kind of a strange text when trying to subscribe to a newsletter. I would very much like to choose another text and give it another color.

Here’s the link to one of the pages that shows the form: https://duurzaamopgeruimdleven.nl/professional-organizing/

Your help would be very welcome!
    Manay thanks in advance,
    Machteld

    Hi there @machteld1972,

Can you please share a screenshot of how you added the checkbox?

This is how I added it to my test site: https://d.pr/i/npGTk9

When I don’t check this box, it gets highlighted but it doesn’t give me an error message: https://d.pr/i/30L2AK

    Hope it helps!

    Hi Elvira,

You can see the added checkbox here:
    https://duurzaamopgeruimdleven.nl/professional-organizing/
(I don’t know how to share a screenshot).

I have added the checkbox following the instructions on this page:
    https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/252-how-to-add-a-checkbox-field-to-mailpoet-form

Maybe there’s a difference between the Dutch and English versions?

    Hi!

Alright, so in this case changing the text “selecteer tenminste een optie” wouldn’t be possible by using the built-in options of the plugin – you’d need to customize the plugin (specifically that string) to change the default message.

Regarding the color, that can be modified if you target the class #mailpoet_form_4 .parsley-errors-list and use Custom CSS:
