    Hello!
Updated AMP to v2.1 and having a weird issue. In the left panel, if the AMP plugin section expanded it Validated URLs Badge displays that all URLs are not validated (red circle with a number), but in the full URLs list it says “All markup valid”.

After recheck, it says – URL validation failed. Error code: AMP_NOT_AVAILABLE.

Were you on Standard or Transitional mode at one time but have since switched to Reader?

Always on Standard, but Reopened Wizard to reset again to Standard

    OK, thanks. We’re investigating.

    Hi Egornmore,

How did you get that validation page? I don’t have anything like that in the same position in my AMP in my wordpress dashboard…

@considerthis1 Are you on Reader mode by any chance? The validation screens are not shown by default if you are on Reader mode or if AMP Developer Tools is disabled for the user.

@considerthis1 @pierlo I used standard mode from beginning and validation pages were available. As far back as I can remember I picked technically savvy wizard option on plugin setup. I just tried reopen wizard again, but on this time I picked non-technically option, that solved my problem with notification badges. Unfortunately validation pages disappeared, that was a useful. Why this function can’t be in standard mode?

@egornmore If you chose the “Non-technically savvy or wanting a simpler setup” option in the Onboarding Wizard then AMP Validation Tools will not be shown for you, and so you would not see the validation counts in the admin sidebar.

If you want to re-enable the AMP Developer Tools even though you selected the non-technical user option, you can go to your user profile and enable the “AMP Developer Tools” option. Alternatively, you can reopen the Onboarding Wizard and select the technical user option.

Yes, the “technically-savvy” option in the Onboarding Wizard is the the same as the “AMP Developer Tools” setting on the user profile.

Pierre has opened a PR to fix the issue with the counts: https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/pull/6185

    What confuses me is this:

After recheck, it says – URL validation failed. Error code: AMP_NOT_AVAILABLE.

@egornmore Does that happen when attempting to re-validate any of the previously-validated URLs you showed in your screenshot?

    Thread Starter egornmore

    (@egornmore)

@pierlo Oh, got it. Notification badge still there. I reproduced amp error for test (screenshot attached) and looks like Validated URLs is just static.

@westonruter Regarding AMP_NOT_AVAILABLE it was several times before, now it shows succesful message. That was bulk recheck

It could have been an issue timeout issue.

We should have a build for you to test to fix the validated URL counts in the next couple hours.

@westonruter @pierlo I already tested production build from github, issue fixed after bulk recheck. I’ll check later if there will be another buld. Thank you for you help, much appreciated =)

    Thank you, Pierre,

No, I’m using Transitional. I have no tech skills. I get the impression everyone here is tech competent. Maybe there’s something that’s obvious to everyone else, that they use… and it makes the validation thing show up… ?????

I’ve made a couple more changes to the PR to refine the logic. Updated builds are available: https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/pull/6185#issuecomment-834681199
