Afternoon…I am not very technical so need some advice/guidance.

Might seem like a really silly question, but after a post is published on my blog, can I then delete any media (in my case jpeg and png files) that have been used within the article to effectively augment the narrative? (as only rarely do I use the same jpeg or png file again)

    Best regards

    Paul

If you delete media from your library, where do you think your post will get it for display in the user’s browser?

Thanks, Steven for answering my question…

So as a follow-up question (if that is possible), I use EWWW Image Optimiser. When I add a new jpeg image it creates various sizes of the image in the Media Library. So how do I delete (if that is possible) those sizes that I don’t use in the article or anywhere on the website?

    Best regards

You shouldn’t. WordPress makes those alternate image sizes available in responsive situations so the user’s browser can choose the best size for the current display. If you have questions about that plugin, however, I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/ewww-image-optimizer/#new-post so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

Thanks, Steven…really appreciate your time answering both of my questions. I will contact EWWW plugin support as per the link provided if I wish to investigate further.

I will now close this topic.

    Best regards
