Server Sending Invalid Match Key Parameters for ViewCategory Event

    Hello,

    I am receiving the following error from Facebook.

    “Your server is sending an invalid ip_address parameters value for your ViewCategory event. This may be because there was an error in the parameter value.
    This may cause issues with the attribution and delivery optimization of ad campaigns that are using this event.”

    Can you please help me to resolve this issue?

    We’ve seen this before and the error is from Facebook and not built into the plugin. Check here for context:

    In short: My suggestion, if you’re still seeing these issues occur, would be to open a conversation with their team directly at: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/552096935652452 and mention that the Facebook for WooCommerce uses Server to Server API to record events. Within these logs, we see that all parameters are included that Facebook requires. In the Facebook front-end, an error is appearing that suggests the ip_address and user_agent are missing or invalid.

    Some users have resolved this by abandoning the old Pixel and creating a new one and establishing a new connection. You can achieve this by using the “Uninstall” option under **Marketing > Facebook > Uninstall**. From the Facebook setup wizard, you can create and connect a new Pixel.

    Hopefully, this clears up the issue. You can also share if Facebook support has any additional details.
