    Hi there,

    As described as the thread title, I tried to find a way to cancel reservation either from hostel owner’s perspective or from test-customer’s perspective, and I both failed to find a way to cancel the reservation nor can I just delete the reservation in backend of Vikbooking, please shed some light to the solution thank you.

    Hello,
    You can delete a reservation from the owner’s perspective in the Vik Booking > Bookings > All Bookings page in the Admin menu.
    From the bookings list, you need to check the reservation you want to delete and click on the “Remove bookings” button, which you can find at the top of the page.
    This will cancel the reservation and set the status of the reservation to “Cancelled”.
    If you want to remove it also from the bookings list, you need to check this reservation again and click on the “Remove bookings” again to delete it permanently.

    If a user wants to delete a reservation, he can do it from the order detail page, here an example where you can see the “Cancel your booking” button:

    In order to let your customers cancel their bookings though, you need to enable the parameter “Bookings Modification/Cancellation” that you can find in the Vik Booking configuration.

    Hi there,

    I saw the button “Remove bookings” after receiving your reply, and for some reason, I did not spot it before this(@ @), and I just tested it and now I know I can cancel a booking and I can remove a booking permanently. But what is the different between Cancelled and permanently removed from booking list?

    And I am surprised to see the screen after I clicked you link you shared, because I did enable the parameter “Bookings Modification/Cancellation before I created this thread, but if my test-customer click on the booking details link in the mail notification, who will see a similar screen to the screen of your shared link, but without an option of “Cancel your booking”, please refer to the screenshot link(1).

    Please asist.

    Hello,
    The difference between Cancelled and Permanently Removed is that with the “Cancelled” you are setting the booking status from “Confirmed” to “Cancelled”.
    If you don’t want to see the reservation in the bookings list, i.e. you are doing booking tests and it might not have sense to have a lot of test bookings in your list, you can remove them from the list in this way.

    In case you can not see the “Cancel your booking” button you need to check the type of price configuration. Your price of type needs to have the “Refundable” parameter enabled.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your reply.

    If the parameter “Refundable” is the one as in the screenshot(1), I think I had set it enabled before this.

    However, because the “Non-refundable Rate” option appears on the top of booking process(2), so test-customer naturally chose this one most of the time before this, as a result, there is no cancelation option afterward, if test-customer book through the Standard rate option, then I/test-customer can see there is a cancelation option in the UI afterward. This is what I know so far, let me know if I miss something again.

    I noticed the Extra Service in the link attached in your 2nd response, could you tell me how do one set this up in Vikbooking?

    Hi there,

    Sorry, after my last post, I think I just found out that the Extra Services setting is a part of Pro version, if I am right, then I guess that will an issue only after my client decided to purchase the Pro version.
