Completed/Paid Orders remain in “pending payment” in WooCommerce

    We have been having continual issues with orders coming placed and paid for, that arrive in our WooCommerce list as “pending payment” and we receive no notification on the order. I have added the new IP address to our allowlist in WordFence thinking that may be the issue. I have followed all the steps and troubleshooting previous mentioned in another post here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/paypal-express-checkout/. Below is a copy of the System Report and a screenshot, I also made a screen shot of the order notes for the two newest orders but both say “There are no notes yet.”

    Any assistance in how to fix the issue would be appreciated. I did not design the website originally but have just take over the maintenance of it recently when my client had issues with the prior developer (no response, no action, etc.) Thank you!

    Could you check if the Status report is for the correct site that has the Paypal Checkout payment issues?

    The status report you shared above shows that the Paypal Checkout plugin isn’t installed on your site? Is it possible that the logs are of a different site or may you are posting in the wrong forums?

    I guess we do not. We are simply using the Paypal payment option already part of the WooCommerce plug in? Do we need a separate plug in for paypal?

    I have added the WooCommerce PayPal Checkout Payment Gateway plug-in, activated it, and connected it to our Paypal. I’m hopeful this will fix the issue but will be back here again if it does not. Thank you.

    Glad that you have got a temporarily solution.

    But in regards to the built-in PayPal Standard in WooCommerce, the issue that you’re facing usually relates to the IPN problem (Instant Payment Notifications).

    A full guide to troubleshoot this kind of issue is available here on our website: Debugging IPN issues.

    1) Make sure the email address here WooCommerce > Settings > Payment > PayPal Standard > Receiver email matches your PayPal primary email address.

    2) Check your server has support for fsockopen

    3) Check if your server has a firewall

    Hi, having the same issue here since a few weeks. The email is the same on both Paypal plugin & Paypal account. Fsockopen function is enabled.

    Edit: issue seems to be linked to VAT (i’m in france): Ive got a note on the order that says
    “Validation error: Paypal amounts do not match (gross 23.51). Order status changed from Pending Payment to Pending.”

    Hi @topraf. Can you contact our support team at https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/ or [email protected]? Please include your system status report, which you can find by going to WooCommerce > Status in your site’s admin area, then clicking “Get system report,” then “Copy for support.”
