Hello. I recently started using Smush and I am happy with the performance of the plugin, which saves me having to manually reduce the weight of the images.

I usually use the MailPoet plugin to edit and send newsletter to subscribers on the site. MailPoet works integrated with the WordPress site and loads its images through the site’s media library.

I don’t know if Smush is processing these images, which are displayed in the newsletter and not directly on the site. Can you clarify this for me?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @aralar

I hope you are doing well.

The Smush will compress the image on the upload if you have the option enabled, it processes any plugin that uses the standard WordPress upload functions.

Once the image is optimized if you embed the link on any location it will load the optimized version.

Just an important note, the free version only compress the thumbnails, for example, image-150×150.jpg,

For the original image and Super Smush, it requires the Pro version.

Let us know if you have any additional question about it.
    Best Regards
