Updates not working with Rank Math active

    Hi,
    I just installed Rank Math recently and today I noticed something strange:

    If I want to update or delete a plugin/theme from the WordPress-Backend the update is not working.
    Error Message: “the folder cannot be created”

    If I deactivate Rank Math everything works fine, but if I activate Rank Math the updates from the WordPress-Backend are not working.

    In Rank Math Status I can see: the plugin/theme-folders are marked as “Not writable” – but they are if Rank Math is deactivated.

    What can I do?

    Thank you for contacting the support and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Can you please try adding the following line to your wp-config.php file (situated in the root) after taking a backup of that file?
    add define( 'FS_METHOD', 'direct' );
