• Hi,

I’m trying to move 4 wordpress blogs into one WPMU installation. But running into a problem with SI Contact form one one of them. I get ‘cannot read captcha cookie’ whenever I try to send a message. Tried disabling each plugin, then re-enabling them, but still getting an error. The one plugin I can’t easily switch off for long periods is ‘domain mapping’, as it is needed for the site to remain visible at it’s advertised address.

I’m using WPMU, with the domain mapping and WP super cache plugins. With a permanent redirect to the new domain and admin pages remaining at the new domain, not original.

Fairly sure I’ve tracked the problem down to the fact that I’m using a ‘mapped’ domain on this site, if I switch the primary domain back to the standard one, it works ok. I think SI Contact form is picking up the blogname for the original domain only, but not sure where to look.

I’ve tried searching the forums, etc. but can’t find this problem reported elsewhere. Is there a known issue?

  • Check the WP settings in Admin – Settings – General
    WordPress address (URL)
    Blog address (URL)

That is where it finds the path and URL

Hi. I too am having what sounds to be a nearly identical problem as macavitycat. I apologize up front, but my problem is that I am not familiar enough with all the different screen layouts in MU to figure out how to fix it. My question is two fold. First, I have looked all over the various menus on both my main domain and the subdomain (including the Admin-Settings-General) and I have not been able to find the fields mentioned above (wordpress address (url) and blog address (url)). If someone would provide me specific details on where I should be finding these settings. I guess the second part of the question would be, do I change the fields to my work site domain or to the main domain? If it helps, my hosting is set up on mechs.info (which i am not using yet). I have my work domain sunny1039.com pointed to my hosting account and using mu domain mapping set so that visitors see sunny1039.com instead of mechs.info/sunny1039.
Again, sorry if my questions seem a little thick. It doesn’t help that I’ve been trying to figure this out long enough today that my brain feels like mush.
    Thanks again for any help.

Go to the Site Admin menu, and the Blogs sub-menu.
Find the blog you want and hover over the name.
Some other menu items will come up. Click the one that says “edit”.

I think you should switch the values to the mapped domain.

Did anybody get this working? As the plugin author, I would really like to know if anybody has resolved this.

If somebody resolves it, please reply here with the settings that worked.

I have not confirmed if this issue is resolvable or not because cookies can only work on one domain. Cookies do not work across two different domains.

To help, I need to see the page with the problem.

Chris Cohen sent me the answer. He got it to work!

    Find this WordPress admin setting:
Site Admin > Blogs > [blogname] > Edit

(note: consumingchoices.org is his mapped domain)
“I changed the Domain and Path variables to “consumingchoices.org” and “” respectively. The only issue was that all the images that I had placed inside of my posts and pages with hardcoded urls broke. No big deal since I didn’t have that many posts I just went back and changed the URLS by hand.”
