    Hello.

I tried to create a template following ThemeShaper’s tutorial. All I want is to have the blog look similar to my website bernardobatista.com.br, which has 3 columns (navigation and stuff on the sides, main content in the middle).

I don’t understand all the PHP and even CSS code there though. Right now, the columns on the sides are empty, even though they’re supposed to have some widgets there. Also, some navigation links are looking strange… So because I don’t really understand all the codes, I can’t even troubleshoot it… I’ve looked hard for the errors, but I don’t know where to find them. It seems like sidebar.php is fine, maybe the problem is in index.php. This is what it is now.

    Thanks in advance!
    Bernardo

Well, I hate to get my post out of the “no-replies” list, but I think I should give a small update…

I see now that my sidebar and footer are not in the output. Everything seems perfect with the index.php (“getting” the sidebar and footer) and the footer.php seems perfect too (with the wp_footer thing). I don’t know about sidebar.php, but it’s probably the same error for both.

Well, it’s really a shame I never found out what was wrong with it. I “fixed” the issue of index.php not getting the footer, but even though I didn’t really change anything… I did the whole step by step again and couldn’t figure out what was different.

As for the sidebar, I just had to use a different code from a different person. The dynamic_sidebar thing from Automattic.
