    Hello,

So I have a dev site that will eventually replace a real site.

Right now the dev site url is as such…

    dev.sitename.org

    The real site is

    https://www.sitename.org

My server host says that that when we make the dev site replace current site we will not have he www

I believe he will do this at his end

The site is on a NGINX server

What I need to know is – I am still working on the dec site.

I want to set up the redirection plugin so that the pages will go from https://www.sitename.org.html to sitename.org

First question – can I do that now or do I have to wait? Or if I do it now will it mess up the current site in anyway?

Second my web developer friend said I will need to put the urls in a special way for it to work correctly… can you confirm that this is how I should do it?

    https://www.sitename.com/hello.html = > /hello

I don’t really understand the first question. You should add the redirects when you need things to be redirected. You can create and then disable them if you don’t want them to function.

What do you mean by a special way?

Thank you, I think I’ve figured it out.
