Adding custom field to Additional Information tab

    Hello,

    I would like to add a custom field to product variations, and have this show up in the Additional Information tab.

    E.g. I have a Variable Product, with three variations, and I would like the barcode number for each variation to be displayed in the Additional Information tab, along with the size and weight information that is already displayed there.

    Is there a plugin that allows this to happen?

    Hi there,

    There isn’t a built-in way to do that with WooCommerce. In this case, you can use a customized solution or a plugin. We don’t provide support for customizations but I found the following link that may interest you:

    Note that I haven’t tested this plugin and it was not developed by us, but you can reach its developers to ensure it meets your needs.

    Alternatively, you can consult with a developer who can help you create a custom solution.

    I have checked the plugin out, however it appears that it doesn’t add the extra fields to the “Additional Information” tab.
    thas ok, I’ll eep looking.
    If anyone else knows of a plugin though, please let me know.

    I’m not immediately aware of a plugin that can help with that but you can opt for a custom solution here. Therefore, we’d recommend getting in touch with a web developer or one of the customization experts listed at https://woocommerce.com/customizations/.

    I understand now that this can be sort of done by adding a product variation to the variable product, and then this will show up in the Additional information tab.
    However is it possible to autofill these additional fields / hide them from the selection process? As the custom information (e.g. barcode) does not have to be selected, just related to a variation.
