    Hi,

For my use case, i want to create a custom page in the child theme of blocksy.

In the child theme directory, i created a page with this id : page-684.php. For example, i want to see only a simple div element. But i can’t see my html

I don’t understand how the custom template works in blocksy child theme

Have you got an idea for my problem ?

    Thanks so lot

  • Hi @stardeuche

You will need to create a general purpose separate page template that you’ll be able to select within the page edit menu, under page templates. Creating the file with the id name isn’t sufficient.

Here’s the official WordPress documentation on page templates — https://developer.www.ads-software.com/themes/template-files-section/page-template-files/

    Hope this helps.

ok for a custom template. But if i want to need a specific page for a website. I created a single page with the slug or id.

In other theme i can see my new specific page with my custom content but with blocksy child theme i can’t see that

I’m not sure I entirely understand what you’re trying to do here, to be honest. If you’re looking to create a special page template overriding WP’s builtin one, you can follow the steps that I’ve posted in my last reply.

If you’re trying to create a page, simply create it in the pages view and link it to a menu of your choice.

Could you get back to me with more details on this one?
