• Hi guys,
So recently I’ve been tasked with creating a website for my Universities record label (it’s a student led label for student musicians) and I’m really struggling with installing wordpress. My previous experience with starting a wordpress website was done all through Siteground, however with this one I have to do a manual install with FileZilla and it’s doing my head in.
The guy who designed the original website used this awful thing called Joomla, and because it was an absolute headache I decided to try and get it converted to wordpress. However, every resource I have accessed always assumes that I’ve got access to the hosting service. So I began by clearing out the previous database with FileZilla and then creating a new database with cPanel. I was following this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIhNlzLgF78&ab_channel=ImranEmu and at the 2:47 mark I encountered my first obstacle, which is that I have none of these files that he has as I have a completely empty database. He installs the wordpress directory into public_html, however my database is completely empty. I then deleted this database and created a new one in the hope that it would be reset to the same files that he has, but it’s still empty. I’m a bit lost as to how to get these files back so that I can continue with the wordpress installing, namely the cache, etc, logs, mail, public ftp etc etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
