After importing XML file, images aren’t in media library

Good morning,
I am migrating an entire blog (with same URLs) from an old website to a new one. I noticed that I have to import a XML file for articles and a XML file for images in order to have both post and image in the new blog. I tried to import the media XML file, after the article XML file, in the new website. The process worked because I found the image in the right article, but that imported image did not appear in the media library of WordPress. How is it possible? Where can I find the imported images in the new website?
