Not able to get through setup.
-
I was not able to get through the setup process, specifically I get an error message on the Google Merchant Center step “Not able to verify” even thou my site is verified in Google Merchant. There are no further instructions on what else can be done to move forward with process.

Hi @djmisha
Sorry to hear of your difficulties.
I’d love to get some more information about your set up to see if I can help like what the domain is and what extensions you are running. If you are able to post some of your status information or open a ticket on WooCommerce.com with the info that would be amazing.
Google has high-level information about possible causes here.
We have some more [focused technical suggestions here](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/google-listings-and-ads/google-listings-and-ads-faqs/#section-38).
I’ll keep an eye on this thread.
Hi again @djmisha
Would you mind also checking for a google-listings-and-ads-xxxxxxxx log/s within WooCommerce > Status > Logs and seeing if there is anything in there related to verification. Possible something like…
2021-06-10T14:54:46+00:00 ERROR Automattic\WooCommerce\GoogleListingsAndAds\API\Google\SiteVerification::insert { "error": { "code": 400, "message": "The necessary verification token could not be found on your site.", "errors": [ { "message": "The necessary verification token could not be found on your site.", "domain": "global", "reason": "badRequest" } ] } }
Cheers
Thanks for the reply Jason!
The domain is silverfever.com
We do have quite a few plugins installed, but I think worth a mention is Jetpack, Akismet, WP Super Cache.
Here are the errors from the log you requested. Thanks for your assistance! Appreciate your help.

Hi @djmisha,
Thanks for the logs. Those seem to be from a
fatal-errors
log rather than thegoogle-listings-and-ads-xxxxxxxx.log
.However, the logs do indicate there are several errors related to Google Listings & Ads that are likely caused by a plugin or theme conflict.
?
The best way to determine if there is a conflict or not is to:- Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
- Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and Google Listings & Ads
- Try to set up the Google Listings & Ads plugin again
If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.
Please let us know how that goes!
Please have a look at the logs you requested below:

Hey there @djmisha,
Thanks a bunch for sending those logged errors. Can you clarify for us if following these steps helps resolve it?
Hello – thanks for all your assistance so far. Unfortunately I was not able to resolve the issue from any of the provided instructions.
1. I followed the Meta tag instructions and do have the tag in the source code and Caching disabled. Still not able to verify.
2. I followed the advice to disable plugins and try to verify. This is very bad advice. You are recommending to take an active store and disable its functionality and theme, which could potentially cause other problems. Either way this bad advice also did not resolve the issue.
Most well developed and tested WordPress plugins work out of the box, that is their magic ability when a plugin is built correctly. This plugin is not ready for prime time, I am not the only one having this issue and have spent a few days now trying to resolve this.
I stand by my review. This plugin does not work, and is obviously in early development. And at this point I am now helping the developers’s troubleshoot their code instead of tending to my business.
I recommend those reading this to wait until the plugin developers have resolved issues before installing this.
Hi @djmisha
I appreciate your frustration here, it sounds like something is conflicting with how the verification process should proceed but is being blocked.
As mentioned in the I’m getting an “Unable to insert site verification” error when connecting a Merchant Center account – what can I do? FAQ, this is an automated process and mainly comes down to Google not being able to access and verify the site.
If you would like us to investigate further, please do reach out via our contact form – https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket – and include a link to this forum thread.
Thanks,
Thank you. I appreciate the effort. For now I am going to wait and keep an eye on this space until more people review and we start seeing a positive flow of feedback. Then I will consider engaging once again to get this setup on our store. Thanks again!
Hello @djmisha,
Thanks for getting back and letting us know your thoughts. We really appreciate that. I hope you will consider using the plugin soon and if you do need assistance feel free to reach out.
Cheers.
Hi @djmisha, just a heads up that we have released version 1.1
I suspect the problem with verification you were receiving were due to the extension incorrectly using site_url() instead of using home_url() (an unfortunate and common mistake) in one of the functions and so the site verification was pointing to the incorrect spot e.g. silverfever.com/wordpress/ For you instead of silverfever.com
The 1.1 release addresses that. Hopefully, it addresses things for you.
Thanks Jason! I appreciate the heads up ??
I upgraded to the latest version and tried again – and how we have a new error.
One the “Set Up Your Accounts” nothing is loading on the page and I see “There was an error loading Google Account info”
Thanks for the update @djmisha and sorry to hear about the new error!
Could you go to WooCommerce > Status > Logs and see if there is anything relevant within a google-listings-and-ads-xxxx.log file?
Some errors may have been logged if there were failures to communicate.

Thanks for sharing the logs. This error seems to related to a connection issue with your WordPress.com. Please reconnect your WordPress.com account and clear your site cache. Check if that fixes the problem.
