User/Author Profile on site

I have been trying to find a way to make it where every user has a profile, and when you click on their name, instead of taking you to a list of their articles, it takes you to a profile page of that author. And the profile would actually be like a page on the themed site, not something in the backend.

And when users comment on something, you click their name and it will do the same thing.

Is there a way to do that? Maybe a plug-in or something?
