I am trying to restore a site from the sgbp file, however I get the “source db prefix doesn’t match current db prefix” message.

I downloaded your editing tool and changed all instances of the old db name and uploaded that but once the ‘restore’ button is clicked, nothing happens.

Also tried uploading the edited file directly to the server, same.

The edited file your software edited has a .sql tag, however I also tried changing that to .sgp, same.

    Dear @steiner1010 ,

Thanks for bringing your issue to our attention.
Let us go through all your inquiries one by one:

    1. I am trying to restore a site from the sgbp file, however I get the “source db prefix doesn’t match current db prefix” message: when the URL or DV prefix of the websites changes during the restore, we consider it as a migration, which is available with the pro version of the plugin.
    2. I downloaded your editing tool and changed all instances of the old db name and uploaded that but once the ‘restore’ button is clicked, nothing happens: may we know if by saying our editing tool, you mean the SGBP extractor (https://backup-guard.com/downloads) and after extracting the file you imported it to the website and tried to restore it?
    3. Also tried uploading the edited file directly to the server, same: may we assume, that you have tried to upload the file to the website using the FTP and couldn’t do that?
    4. The edited file your software edited has a .sql tag, however, I also tried changing that to .sgp, same: when you extract the file using our extractor, it changes the file format and that is why, it can’t be uploaded to the website, as it is not the .sgbp file.

So if you have extracted the file and the extract process ended with the ”Complete” status, this means, that the backup file is fine and you can restore it.
But if the restore button is not responding, may we ask you to try to restore another file and let us know if you face the same issue?

Or else, you can contact us via [email protected] email address and send us the file you are trying to restore, so we can double-check the file for you.

    Best,
    BackupGuard Team

I’m also unable to restore website. I ‘m stuck at page Restoring Database: 0% for the past hour. Backup is under 200mb. What should I do?

    Dear @rapadura ,

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the late response.

In case you still face the issue, could you please, send us the restore log file, so I can analyze the issue?

You can download the mentioned log file following the article below:

How to Download the Restore Log File

Please send it via wetransfer.com using the link retrieving option.
    Like this: https://prnt.sc/qr3ntv

In case you don’t have an access to your dashboard, you can download it using FTP client. All the backups and related stuff (e.g. log files) have been located in “/wp-content/uploads/backup-guard/” directory.

    Best,
    BackuGuard Team
