SSL and migration
-
Hi, I have used Duplicator to move my website to another provider. I haven’t actually moved the site yet, I work in the system of the new provider on my laptop after changing the hosts file to include the IP adress of the new provider, while the website is still on the old server as well. I encounter a couple of problems, starting with NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID. It seems that the info about the old SSL certificate was moved to the new server, and gives this error. My new provider will assign a new certificate after the actual movement of the site, so the old one should not be transferred. As there are a couple of other problems as well, I plan to redo the Duplicator transfer. Is there anything I can do in the Duplicator settings to avoid the SSL problem?
Could this SSL issue explain another problem: I am not able to delete plugins or install new ones. Or would this have another cause?
Thanks! Michiel
