Sidebar and Menu Disappeared in Primer

I am building a site that links to a TNG site. I had everything set up nicely using the Primer theme, with a right hand sidebar and menu at the top (apart from mobile devices when the menu became bars in the top right.)

I was asked to make some changes to the TNG part today and it has completely screwed up the default layout. The sidebar is no longer visible, nor is the menu – it is always the 3 bars now. If I go into the individual page there is no default layout. I can choose a custom one to display how I want and it looks okay in the preview, but then when I look a the site it has gone back to how it was before.

Something somewhere has changed the default layout but I can’t see any way to get at it. Any ideas please?
