Autosave -OR- display that a change has been made pre-save

After a customer has placed their order, the administrator goes into their order (admin panel) and we sometimes are adding information or modifying information such as adding tracking information, or other order notes. Its easy to forget to hit “Update” at the top right. Is there a way to improve this flaw in the system?

Option 1)
Display a little box on the screen when an order has been modified but not saved, alerting the administrator that their work has not yet ben saved

Option 2)
A continuous auto-save like Google Sheets would be interesting. Obviously this may not be practical and would require a completely different system.

Option 3)
A periodic save (like every 30 seconds) which would be like an auto-save draft. Then if the user forgets to save their work, they can go back and review it.

Option 1 is my favorite.
