Linking categories to subdomains

Im guessing this is a stupid question, but I am trying to figure out how to link my categories to a subdomain of mine. For example lets say my category was basketball on sports.com. How can i make it so that when you click the category for “basketball” on sports.com, it goes to basketball.sports.com
