Jetpack captions + descriptions not displaying in scrolling gallery mode

    Hello! A few days ago I received reports that captions and related descriptions were missing from images in a tiled gallery on the website that I manage. The captions show before clicking on an image, but are missing while scrolling from image to image. This is a serious problem as this is a site showcasing artwork and these attributions and texts are very important. I can confirm that the captions and descriptions are appearing in the media library in conjunction with corresponding images. The first place I went to for help was the theme developer (I use Presence from WPZoom) but was told this is a Jetpack problem (Jetpack was a required plugin for this theme). I remember updating the Jetpack plugin very recently when I received the prompt, could this be causing the problem?

    Hi again Dan,

    I’d like to echo the general comments of other forum responses to the last Jetpack update (9.9) I would really like to see captions + descriptions be visible underneath the image in the scrolling carousel. Currently on my site (see web page earlier) the only way to get this information is to click on the information icon in the lower right side of the carousel. It is much better to have this information readily available without looking for it – especially for artwork attributions. Thanks so much for your work on making these improvements, and I hope they come soon! Catherine T.
