We have shut down an older website, rebranded, and created an all-new website. I would like to download our old table press tables (via FTP) so that I can update them and then upload to our new website. Is this possible? And if so, what is the directory path to find my old Table Press tables?

    Thank you,
    Todd

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Unfortunately, I’ll have to disappoint you here. That will not be possible like that. The reason is that the TablePress tables are not stored in files on the server, but in the WordPress mySQL database. You would need to have a backup of that (specifically, of the wp_posts database table), and we could then try to extract the tables from that.
Alternatively, if the old website is still available, you export the tables from the WordPress admin dashboard.

I haven’t deleted the old site, I simply redirected traffic to the new website. I believe the MySQL database would still be intact. I will take a look at that.

    Hi,

if you still have access to the old site, I definitely recommend the “Export” option that TablePress offers, preferably with the JSON format, as that also contains the table settings.

From the mySQL database table wp_posts, you would need the entries with a value of tablepress_table in the post_type column.

Quick update… I didn’t have access to the old website, but I did have access to the MySQL database. I was able to search the wp_posts for “tablepress_table” in the post_type column and retrieved all of the data I needed. Thank you SO MUCH for your help and quick replies!!!
