    Hi

I’ve received an email from Google advising the following:

Search Console has identified that your site is affected by 1 Coverage issues:

    Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt

The URL that this is affecting is:

    /wp-admin/js/password-strength-meter.min.js?ver=4.7.5

Anyone know the correct way to handle this error?

As the file that Google is scraping is a security file, wouldn’t this be off limits to bots by default?

That’s an odd message. This is just a JavaScript file that produces a “strength meter” to rate how strong/weak a password is. It’s not content that Google would really need to scrape. There’s nothing secret in the file though. It’s publically available on GitHub for anyone to take a look at too.

You could remove the block in robots.txt so Google can see it. That shouldn’t compromise the security of the site at all.
