Any chance anyone knows what to do about the numerous !important declaration in the CSS of blocksy ?
    It negatively impact pagespeed assessment.
    Thank you!

  • Hello @tghbnju1496

Can you give us a specific example?

We assure you that we’ve tried our best, and even had external audits done on Blocksy to ensure code quality and performance. Every line of CSS has been carefully considered when it was added with quality and speed in mind.

I have noticed that in the other thread, this test of yours was misinterpreting Blocksy’s main CSS file as unneeded. Personally, I wouldn’t trust this test that much if it falsely flags the core theme files as unnecessary.

    Thanks

    Hello @cteduard
Thank you for the fast answer.
It’s with yet another tool this time. I’m cross checking with different tools.
Here is an example of a file with lot of !important

Yes it is possibly another false positive.

    Hello @tghbnju1496

From my analysis of the file linked to us (the second one is generated by a caching plugin), the !important tags are there to ensure our colour and responsive system works correctly with third party page builders.

It is nothing to worry about and it does not affect the page speed.

    Thanks
