False Advertising

  • They offer the free plugin in the wordpress site but when you install and activate it you get a message that you need to install the Pro Version. So basically the free version is useless, you cannot do anything with it unless you upgarde.

    Hello @juancamawey,

    I think you misread the notice in your admin plugin list. ACF Extended is an extension of ACF Pro (which is an another plugin), this is why it requires Advanced Custom Fields PRO 5.8 (at least), as described in the plugin main description and requirements section.

    This plugin requires at least ACF Pro 5.8. If you don’t already own ACF Pro, you should consider it. It’s one of the most powerful WordPress plugin available

    You probably didn’t activate ACF Pro on your website, since it says that you need “ACF Pro” (and not “ACF Extended Pro”). So you don’t need any upgrade, just the base plugin. Once you enable it, you’ll be able to enjoy ACF Extended and its hundred free features.

    As it seems to be a simple misunderstanding, would you like to please reconsider your review?

    After some investigations I can confirm that your problem come from the fact that you don’t have Advanced Custom Fields Pro installed on your website, as your URL return a 404 here: https://unicosas.com/wp-content/plugins/advanced-custom-fields-pro/

    While ACF Extended returns a 403: https://unicosas.com/wp-content/plugins/acf-extended/

    As explained in the requirements section of this plugin, you’ll have to install the base ACF Pro plugin in order to use ACF Extended extension. ACF Pro is really an awesome plugin which gives many new tools to customize your website/admin experience. I would really recommend to get it, since it’s one of the most powerful and popular WordPress plugin.
