Is SiteGround Security intended to be a replacement for a firewall (e.g. NinjaFirewall, WP Cerber, etc.)? Or is it a nice-to-have addition?

My website is hosted with SiteGround, in case that makes a difference.

    Hello @paddy-landau,

Firewall rules should be applied on a server level. This way any malicious/unwanted requests will never reach the website. In case the protection is applied on a website level, the requests will hit the PHP and website. That is why this is not the optimal solution.

As you are hosted on SiteGround there are great Firewall, monitoring system and Antibot AI protection rules already applied on a server level. You can keep only SiteGround Security plugin and remove any other plugins with similar options to avoid plugin conflicts.

    Best Regards,
    Elena

    You are most welcome, @paddy-landau!

You can drop a quick review for the plugin if you have the time, that would be highly appreciated ??

@elenachavdarova — Elena, I’ve made a note to review the plugin, which I’ll do after I’ve used it for a week or two.
